Mfg., Inc. a rapidly growing and leading manufacturer of
fine sporting firearms with locations in AL, NY, NJ and MT has an
immediate opening for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)
located in Troy, Alabama. In
this role, the SQE will be responsible for coordinating with
suppliers to verifying quality planning, control, and improvement
standards in accordance with the requirements of their organization
and/or in accordance with Kimber's Supplier Quality Manual.
- Perform regular supplier audits to
ensure compliance with regulatory standards, as well as actively
participating in strategic sourcing initiatives to assess and select
suppliers based on their quality system infrastructure and execution.
- Manage the supply chain quality
performance, serve as the liaison for suppliers for their quality
performance, suggest structural quality and process improvements, and
collaborate with other engineers in a team environment.
- Identify technical problems with
suppliers and implement corrective actions. Follow up through supplier
site visits and/or document reviews to verify the effectiveness of
corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive increased supplier quality
reliability by motivating suppliers to perform at higher expected
levels and by applying engineering skills through the use and
application of quality tools.
- Maintain accurate quality records,
certifications, and database screens about suppliers’ historical
- Attain and disposition Supplier
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) information and properly
engage supplier on deficiencies. File in accordance with
Kimber’s Quality System Manual.
- Conduct supplier capability
assessments that verify supplier qualifications, travel to assigned
suppliers and lead multiple projects to completion.
- Manage the cycle of supplier
assessments of critical suppliers and engage suppliers on their annual
- Measure readiness throughout the
product development cycle.
- Track and qualify or disqualify
suppliers according to organization's standards.
- Maintain successful relationships
with materials, quality, engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory
- Report supplier performance and
quality to management.
- Assist in the development and
implementation of supplier management programs.
- Previous experience in a quality
supervising capacity preferred.
- Must be a problem solver who uses
their advanced analytical skills to find innovative solutions to

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
