AIDT is seeking applicants for a pre-employment training program for Production Operators at GE Appliances. Successful completion of the program may result in employment with GE Appliances. GE Appliances, a Haier company, makes refrigerators, freezers, cooking products, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and more. The Operator positions are available at the company’s refrigerator plant in Decatur, Alabama.




  • Operates on the line interacting and cooperating with other team members to complete job tasks on different models of the same product moving along the line.
  • Assembles components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specifications.
  • Applies and follows all standardized work and operating instructions.
  • Utilizes wide range of powered-hand tools to assemble, check, adjust or repair appliances.
  • Inspects work to verify quality and conformance to required specifications.
  • Complete daily 5S requirements.


  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1+ years of production or assembly experience.
  • Experience assembling mechanical components.
  • Good reading comprehension skills with ability to interpret and follow written directions, specifications and diagrams.
  • Dependability and good attendance record including timely arrival for work.
