Aerospace is seeking applicants for Aircraft Surface
Finishers (Painter) at their facility in Tallassee, Alabama. The
Tallassee facility, located about 35 miles from Montgomery, Alabama, has
been in operation since 1985 and employs over 1,000 people, producing
composite aerostructures for major OEM aerospace industry partners.
SURFACE FINISHER (PAINTER)
PAY: $16.65 PER HOUR
PROGRESSIVE PAY UP TO $22.76 PER HOUR
for highly skilled or routine tasks associated with complex aircraft
parts and assemblies, which include the painting of metallic and
composite surfaces; corrosion control; surface preparation and the
operation of aircraft paint support equipment; identification of
technical issues and maintenance of technical publications. Position
also works with stenciling and the application of tapes and transfers.

Follows routine and/or complex blueprints and specifications to
perform the following functions: stripping, sanding, masking
insignias, symbols or designs; locating other markings on aircraft
parts or assemblies; using stencils, patterns, measuring instruments,
brushes, or spray equipment.
Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other

Performs maintenance work such as repair and maintenance of
company equipment and shop housekeeping.
Operates lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment as

School Diploma or GED
Minimum three (3) years of work experience with GKN or three (3) years
direct and related work experience performing the functions required
by the position.
Work experience and/or training in the use of all types of spray paint
equipment and hand tools, wrapping, and stripping for paint, cleaning
and corrosion removal required.
Experience in paint preparation procedures, mix and spray of paints,
primers and chemicals.
