AIDT is seeking applicants for a pre-employment training program for CNC Fabrication Set Up / Programmers & CNC Fabrication Technicians. Successful completion of the program may result in employment with Kimber Mfg., Inc. Kimber a rapidly growing and leading manufacturer of fine sporting firearms with locations in AL, NY, NJ, and MT has multiple openings located in our new site in Troy, Alabama.




CNC FABRICATION TECHNICIAN

PAY RATE: $13.00 PER HOUR

$13.50 PER HOUR AFTER 90 DAYS

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and sustain Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory (S, Q, D, C, I) activities.
  • Assist in developing, sustaining and improving CNC machine tool methods and procedures.
  • Assist tool selection in the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development.
  • Assist in developing standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs.
  • Trouble shoot various problems (improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to
  • prevent reoccurrence.
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, calipers, gages, indicators)
  • Participate in Productive Maintenance activity.

EDUCATION/SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience in machining or related mechanical field preferred
  • Vocational/Technical degree preferred
  • Interpret technical prints (GD&T).
  • Must have basic knowledge of CNC machine “G-Code” and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience maintaining and changing tools.
  • Experience determining offsets and adjusting accordingly.
  • Interpret Work Orders and enter data into the Manufacturing database (ERP)
  • Understand S, Q, D, C, I Culture
  • Interpret technical prints using GD&T


CNC FABRICATION SET UP / PROGRAMMER

PAY RATE: $15.50 PER HOUR

$16.00 PER HOUR AFTER 90 DAYS

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and sustain Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory (S, Q, D, C, I) activities.
  • Develop, sustain and improve CNC machine tool methods and procedures.
  • Suggest/optimizes machine tool speeds and feeds to maintain high manufacturing productivity, holding the required tolerances (+/- .0002”) and obtaining maximizing tool life.
  • Develop CNC programs for 2 to 5-axis machines using SolidWorks, Mastercam and similar software.
  • Develop the best CNC method of manufacturing with regards to machine selection, fixtures and tooling.
  • Assist tool selection in the development and implementation of fixtures for new product development.
  • Develop standard work, tool setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs.
  • Trouble shoot various problems (improper tooling, dull tools, wrong location of machined feature, code errors, etc.) and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities while operating equipment (Optical systems, calipers, gages, indicators)
  • Participate in Productive Maintenance activity.
  • Understand datums and install fixtures (Datums, Tombstone, Plates)

EDUCATION/SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years CNC experience
  • Vocational/Technical degree in CNC programming, computer related field or a mechanical field preferred
  • Must have advanced knowledge of CNC machine “G-Code” and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience maintaining and changing tools.
  • Experience determining offsets and adjusting accordingly.
