AIDT is seeking applicants for a pre-employment training program for Hot Stamp Press Operators & Laser Cut Operators for Unipres at their facility located in Steele, Alabama. Unipres has multiple manufacturing facilities throughout the world including three plants in the US. We stamp, assemble, and supply structural component parts to some of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. Our goal is to have the best safety, quality, delivery, and cost in our products to maintain our competitiveness


PAY RATE: $11.59 - $17.00 PER HOUR

BASED ON EXPERIENCE


HOT PRESS STAMP OPERATOR

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all safety guidelines; recognize safety hazards and report to supervision. 
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Inspect parts for defects; report defects to supervisor; follow part work flow procedure
  • Use tools properly; take care of equipment; limit the number of reject parts (rework all possible defects).
  • Must be compliant with the UPAL Attendance Control Policy and must be able to work in a team environment.  
  • Must wear appropriate PPE  including: steel toe shoes, bump cap, safety glasses, Kevlar sleeves and gloves.  As needed, thermal gloves and heat proof outer garments.

EDUCATION/SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Some technical ability and/or prior experience with hand tools, making machine adjustments and verifying quality of parts produced.
  • Individual must become certified to operate a forklift and overhead crane (UPAL Key Skilled Associate qualifications).


LASER CUT OPERATOR

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all safety guidelines; recognize safety hazards and report to supervision. 
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Inspect parts for defects; report defects to supervisor; follow part work flow procedure
  • Use tools properly; take care of equipment; limit the number of reject parts (rework all possible defects).
  • Must be compliant with the UPAL Attendance Control Policy and must be able to work in a team environment.  
  • Must wear appropriate PPE  including: steel toe shoes, bump cap, safety glasses, Kevlar sleeves and gloves.  As needed, thermal gloves and heat proof outer garments.
