is seeking applicants for an EHS Specialist at their facility in Huntsville, Alabama. YKTA is a joint venture of three automotive supplier companies. YKTA products provide structural safety for the vehicle and important functional parts that must operate as designed.  YKTA is an on-site partner and tier one supplier for Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, USA. 


SALARY: $50K - $70K



Assist EHS Management with daily plant operations in the areas of Health, Safety, Environmental and Security.


  • Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operation of safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct hazard prevention analysis and implement risk control countermeasures.
  • Reinforce safe work practices with Team Members.
  • Develop communication systems with department managers for day-to-day EHS activities.
  • Work with manufacturing leaders and Process Engineering to resolve safety issues in all areas.
  • Participate in safety incident investigations and root cause analysis; facilitate the completion of reports; analyze incident trends; implement corrective actions; assure lessons learned are shared and preventive actions are closed and documented.
  • Lead workplace EHS, security and culture strategies and actions.
  • Develop and drive activities with focus on key business metrics such as injury avoidance, regulatory compliance and countermeasures.  
  • Establish and support team member involvement activities in EHS.
  • Develop EHS related policy and lead consistent administration of company policy and procedures.
  • Identifies company safety training needs and develops and coordinates safety training programs.


  • MBS degree in Industrial Safety or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Requires independent judgment on problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendation in support of goals.
  • Knowledge of US environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience with machine and process assessment, risk analysis, and solutions.
  • Utilize leadership styles to maximize section resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Organizational and project management practices as applied to the analysis, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies, and operational needs.
  • Construction, Environmental, Fire Science, Industrial Hygiene experience
  • CSP Certification
  • Ecoat, Metal Stamping or Welding Experience
