AIDT is seeking applicants for a pre-employment training program for Operators at Sterling Packaging LLC. With over 30 years of experience producing folding cartons, Sterling Packaging LLC serves customers within a wide range of industries throughout the United States and Canada. These positions are available at the company’s facility in Monroeville, Alabama.


MULTIPLE OPERATOR POSITIONS

STARTING WAGES: $11 - $18 PER HOUR

DEPENDS UPON EXPERIENCE AND POSITION

  • Sheeter:
Retrieves the correct rolls (substrate type & thickness for job). Sets up Unwind station, blade, slitter, belts and delivery section of machine. Programs the machine to size required for job, performs inspection and testing of the sheets, monitors the machine while running.  Performs regular/light maintenance duties as per maintenance schedule. Troubleshoots Machine Malfunctions. Experience with SOP, Safety, Paper Substrates, Jogger Aerator, Programming, Grain Directions, Machine Components.

  • Printing Press Feeder:
Assists the Printing Press Operator. Sets Up the machine, Make Ready Plates, Coating Blanket on the press, prepares and places inks on the press, Assists with regular/light maintenance duties as per maintenance schedule. Operates Aerator/Jogger.

  • Platen Die-Cutter:
Operates the Platen Die-Cutting machine. Sets Up the machine, Make Ready Steel Rule Die in the Chase, Operates the Machine, Die-Cut the creases/folds and cuts of the sheet to form the shape of the box, performs inspection and testing of the product, performs regular/light maintenance duties as per maintenance schedule. Experience with SOP, Safety, Paper Substrates, Die-Cutting Terminology, Steel Rule Dies.

  • Folder Gluer:
Operates the Folder Gluer Machine. Retrieves the job to be glued.  Programs the machine and glue system for the specific box die, performs inspection and testing of the product, performs regular/light maintenance duties as per maintenance schedule. Supervises a crew of staff that pack the finished product. Experience with SOP, Safety, Paper Substrates, Programming, and Machine Components.

  • Quality Inspector Packer:
Inspects product for quality conformance using visual and measured inspections as finished goods transport through the assembly line and gathered by machinery or hand.  Places quality packaging into corrugate boxes, label the box and place onto pallet. Assists with set up of certain parts of machine, performs regular/light maintenance duties as per maintenance schedule. Experience with SOP, Safety, Paper Substrates, Folding/Gluing Terminology.
