is seeking applicants for a pre-employment training program for various positions at Blue Origin, at the company’s state-of-the-art Facility in Huntsville, Alabama. Blue Origin believes that in order to preserve Earth, our home, for our grandchildren’s grandchildren, we must go to space to tap its unlimited resources and energy. These positions will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

MULTIPLE POSITIONS

INVENTORY TECHNICIAN

STARTING WAGE: $19.00 PER HOUR

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform receipt and stocking of components and raw materials in the facility internal warehouse.
  • Perform data entry related to receipt and inventory transactions
  • Use forklifts, pallet-jacks, powered industrial trucks and similar equipment to transfer items into/out of inventory
  • Interact with inventory management personnel on daily inventory/warehouse priorities
  • Lead/support crane operations as needed.
  • Clean machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in related tasks.
  • Prior experience with inventory management systems, material handling systems and equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, powered industrial trucks and warehouse management equipment.
  • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing processes/procedures and/or inventory/warehouse operations.
  • Strong ability to comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Experience with shop orders, ticketed management systems, and detailed work instructions.


TEST TECHNICIAN

STARTING WAGE: $21.00 PER HOUR

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate test equipment which may include but not be limited to vibration tables, vacuum chambers, pressure devices, water delivery systems, flow meters, transducers and other test equipment.
  • Performs functions that include test troubleshooting, basic equipment maintenance, coordination with test engineers, and engagement with management on daily test activities.
  • Clean machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in related tasks.
  • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing and test processes and procedures.
  • Strong ability to comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Experience with drawings, shop orders, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with test electronic, hydrostatic and pneumatic test equipment.
  • Experience with various types of gages, instruments and measuring devices.


PARTS CLEANING TECHNICIAN

STARTING WAGE: $21.00 PER HOUR

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and perform basic maintenance of component cleaning systems
  • Prepare components for, and perform cleaning of various engine components using automated and semi-automated cleaning equipment
  • Use ovens and similar equipment to dry components after cleaning
  • Perform verification of cleaning processes using manual and semi-automated measuring devices.
  • Manually clean components in a clean room environment to highly precise levels
  • Clean tools, machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in related tasks.
  • Prior experience with automated or semi-automated cleaning systems or chemical processing lines.
  • Knowledge/experience in clean room operations or laboratory operations.
  • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing and test processes and procedures.
  • Strong ability to comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Experience with drawings, shop orders, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, component integration and general assembly.
  • Experience with various types of gages, instruments and measuring devices.


MATERIAL HANDLER

STARTING WAGE: $19.00 PER HOUR

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver components, raw materials and equipment to/from various locations in the facility
  • Interact with a ticketed management system to respond to material handling requests
  • Use forklifts, pallet-jacks, powered industrial trucks and similar equipment to transport goods and materials throughout the facility
  • Perform basic maintenance and inspection of material handling equipment on a recurring basis to ensure hardware and personnel safety
  • Interact with management and production control personnel on material handling needs and support of daily production activities.
  • Lead/support crane operations as needed.
  • Clean tools, machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in related tasks.
  • Prior experience with various material handling systems and equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, powered industrial trucks and warehouse management equipment.
  • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing processes/procedures and/or inventory/warehouse operations.
  • Strong ability to comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Experience with shop orders, ticketed management systems, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, component integration and general assembly.
  • Experience with various types of gages, instruments and measuring devices.


ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

STARTING WAGE: $21.00 PER HOUR

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform component subassembly for engine valves, pumps and combustion devices.
  • Performs functions that include crane operation, tool use, tool maintenance, data entry, progress reporting, precision assembly, component balancing, grinding, polishing, tube installation, wire harness installation, fastener installation, engagement with engineering support personnel, and communication with management on daily production activities.
  • Clean tools, machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in related tasks.
  • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing and test processes and procedures.
  • Strong ability to comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Experience with drawings, shop orders, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, component integration and torque application
  • Experience with various types of gages, instruments and measuring devices.


MACHINE OPERATOR

STARTING WAGE: $21.00 PER HOUR

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate machine equipment which may include but not be limited to CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC welding machines, robotic welders, heat treat ovens, and coating application devices.
  • Performs functions that include part fabrication, in-process quality checks, basic equipment maintenance, coordination with engineering support personnel, and engagement with management on daily production activities.
  • Clean machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in related tasks.
  • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Strong ability to comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Experience with drawings, shop orders, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with computer/numerically controlled equipment.
  • Experience with various types of gages, instruments and measuring devices.


WELD TECHNICIAN

STARTING WAGE: $21.00 PER HOUR

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and perform basic maintenance of manual welding equipment
  • Prepare and fit-up components prior to welding operations
  • Perform manual fusion welding on various engine components including bracketry, propellant ducts, engine nozzles and combustion devices
  • Perform visual inspection of completed manual fusion welds
  • Performs functions that include crane operation, tool use, tool maintenance, data entry, progress reporting, grinding, engagement with weld engineers, resolution of weld defects with NDT personnel, and communication with management on daily production activities.
  • Clean tools, machines, equipment, and work areas according to site standard practices and management guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in
    related tasks.
  • Prior experience with MIG, TIG, orbital or other manual and/or automated welding systems.
  • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing and test processes and procedures.
  • Strong ability to comprehend technical work instructions.
  • Experience with drawings, shop orders, and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, component integration and Non-destructive Test/Inspection methods
  • Experience with various types of gages, instruments and measuring devices.
