Kappler is currently looking for an IT Support Specialist to join the team at its facility in Guntersville, Alabama.


IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

SALARY: $45K+
DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, servers, etc. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, including user access, component configuration, network access
  • Monitor, review and analyze network and internet traffic to validate security
  • Upgrade and maintain software applications. 
  • Configure and Maintain phone and voicemail systems 
  • Email and Exchange administration
  • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction 
  • Document internal procedures and processes
  • Involve other team members to establish best practices/decisions
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses 
  • May be required to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 or 4 year Technical Trade school or Computer Science degree 
  • IT certifications a plus
  • Prior Help Desk experience 
  • 1+ years in managing a Windows Server Environment, Windows OS including Windows 7, 8 ,10 and Server 2003 - 2016
  • 1+ years in Network Management using Cisco Equipment firewall and wireless networking
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support environment
  • Knowledge and Experience with VMware
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer focus; service oriented and positive attitude
  • Diagnostic and analytical skills for software and general IS application 
  • Knowledge
  • Strong computer literacy skills with an emphasis on software knowledge, installations and use. (Microsoft applications, Data Base applications, Internet and internet protocols)
  • Mobility across campus to provide support to users
