Kappler is currently looking for an Database Specialist to join the team at its facility in Guntersville, Alabama.




  • Responsible for assisting with the day to day administration, troubleshooting, maintenance and support for various software applications at Kappler Perform database programming for new and existing systems.
  • Write scripts, stored procedures and functions for database system.
  • Perform quality assurance tests for ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Resolve database problems, queries and error reports in accurate and timely manner.
  • Interact with business teams to understand project requirements.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements for database performance, reliability and stability.
  • Assist in preparing database functional and design specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and complete database programming documentations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
  • 5+ years IT experience
  • System Certifications are desirable
  • Knowledge of and past experience with Microsoft  SQL Server, Crystal Reports, Nectari, Microsoft SQL stored procedures, Visual Basic .Net Programming, OS X and iOS functionality
  • Knowledge of and past experience with ERP systems
  • This position requires mobility across the campus to provide support to associates company wide
  • Strong customer focus, service oriented and positive attitude
  • High attention to detail 
  • Works well in high-pressure situations
  • Analytical
  • Proactive, self-motivated, excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task  and meet strict deadlines 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication abilities.
