PRODUCTION TEAM LEADER/TRAINER

SALARY RANGE: $19.50/HOUR

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Team Leaders coach, train and support Team Members to perform their roles within Safety, Quality and Productivity standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicates and enforces Safety standards, including confirmation of Personal Protective Equipment and “How’s Your Process” with Team Members
  • Plans and conducts training with team members to ensure versatility and that members remain current on process requirements, including new team member training and process changes
  • Confirms Team Member attendance and prepares tools and equipment for daily production start-up
  • Communicates any abnormal condition and confirms lineside condition
  • Confirms and ensures Quality of vehicles being produced within area
  • Maintains and supports Vehicle production within team by answering Andons, making necessary repairs to ensure on-going production
  • Conducts audits to ensure members are following standardized work
  • Performs troubleshooting and backup in case of equipment failures
  • Acts as catalyst for Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) by promoting and supporting ways to improve Safety, Quality, and Productivity within assigned area
  • Creates documentation for each process in a given department
  • Responsible for coordinating and training all new employees on Manufacturing/Quality processes for a given department
  • Supports new vehicle introduction with training and documentation of standardized work instructions prior to plant start of production with a focus on Safety, Quality, and Production standards

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 18+ Years of Age
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • 2+ years in a fast-paced Industrial work environment with leadership and training responsibilities
  • Must be willing and able to attend Training in Japan and/or other Manufacturing Plants within the U.S. for up to 3 Months at a time
  • Must have strong Communication and Technical Decision-Making Skills with ability to lead, coach and train others
  • Experience as an Automotive Mechanic / Technician a plus
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools a plus
  • Experience using Quality Gages (Calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.) a plus
  • Recent graduates from a Manufacturing or Automotive Certification Program a plus  
  • Must be willing and able to work Rotating Shifts.  Rotating Shifts are defined as working a Day shift then an Evening/ Night shift set on a rotating schedule.
