As part of Walco Transport, the HR Manager provides comprehensive administrative support to day-to-day operations including tracking and reporting data, reorder of office supplies, organizing and maintaining employee training records, as well as supporting Human Resources activities such as verification of time records and the accuracy of employee data records.





  • Maintain accurate employee training records and advise the General Manager and supervisors of documentation needed in support of standard training procedures.
  • Assist with the job posting process and administering pre-employment tests as directed by the General Manager and Fleet Operations.
  • Providing general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, arranging meetings, composing regular correspondence, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines, and recording meeting minutes as needed.
  • Secure sensitive and confidential matters like personnel files, employee relations, organizational changes, data and files.
  • Routing various queries from managers and employees and from other agencies or departments.
  • Communicate potential or real troubles to Fleet Operations Manager’s attention.
  • Coordinate staff training events or programs and recommend resources as needed.
  • Coordinate current issues and matters in the organization related to HR department.
  • Administer and monitor new hire orientation programs.
  • Initiate driving, criminal record, and drug screening.
  • Create and maintain employee file records up-to-date by handling changes in employee status/pay in timely manner.
  • Ensure new employees are entered into payroll.
  • Maintain the facility visitor log and ensure non-badged personnel sign in and out.
  • Help in maintenance of employee directory and company organization charts.
  • Interact with and supply information to employees, department heads, and job applicants.


  • Competent keyboard skills to produce accurate and well-presented reports.
  • Able to present information in forms, tables, and spreadsheets.
  • Should have effective written and verbal skills.
  • Should be committed to diversity and equality culture.
  • Ability to operate under immense pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Proficient with basic budget management and calculations.
  • Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • 2 years previous HR experience (Logistics / Transportation Industry).
  • Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Management a plus but not required.
