part of Walco Transport Operation, truck drivers support the initiative of
providing strong customer service in a timely, professional and courteous
manner. Walco’s truck drivers are responsible for the pickups and delivery
of products to customers, contractors, distribution centers, and jobsites
throughout the location’s geographic region while adhering to all company,
state and federal regulations.
Responsible for pickup’s and
delivery of products to customers.
Inspect vehicle(s) for any safety
or operational defects using DOT, maintenance and safety checklists.
Ensuring emergency equipment is in
proper working order.
Ensure vehicle is properly loaded
and load secured, and product is delivered safely and timely.
Securing chains across the width
of a trailer to secure the product, both on the bed of a trailer and
in an overhead rack.
Tarping of loads on trailers
Dropping and hooking trailers
Accurately complete corresponding
delivery paperwork and work with production, sales and customers to
communicate issues with loads and delivery time.
Maintain logs of working hours or
of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and
Use of Electronic Logging Devices
(ELD) during operation of vehicle; driver will be trained
Drive trucks to weigh stations
before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to
comply with state regulations.
Inventory and inspect goods to be
moved to determine quantities and conditions.
Adhere to safety policies and
procedures related to all facets of job including proper wearing of
High school diploma or GED
Class A drivers must have a
minimum of two (2) years verifiable tractor/trailer over-the-road
driving experience for applicable tractor/trailer drivers.
Class B drivers must have a
minimum of one (2) year verifiable experience in a similar vehicle.
Current Commercial Driver License
Ability to pass a company road
Ability to maintain DOT physicals
and adhere to DOT drug testing requirements.
On-road preventable accidents
during the past (3) years as shown on the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
will be reviewed by CMC Logistics Management.
No more than one (1) moving
violation on the MVR in the previous three (3) years.
No speeding, excessively,
involving a speed of 15 mph or more above the posted speed limit in
a 3 year period.
Must be able to work flexible
