Ballard Concrete is seeking applicants for a Fleet Diesel Mechanic located in NORTHPORT, AL. Ballard Concrete, Inc has been providing quality concrete construction since 1986. FLEET DIESEL MECHANIC

PAY: $17-$22 PER HOUR

 BASED UPON EXPERIENCE


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair heavy duty trucks and related equipment on the trucks
  • Diagnose and repair/replace various parts/components that have failed or are causing malfunctions on the equipment
  • Diagnose and repair problems related to hydraulic components, steering systems, and braking system of equipment
  • Weld necessary components for repair of equipment
  • Proficiently and safely use shop power and air tools
  • Provide routine maintenance and service for equipment
  • Operate service or tow truck with required license

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Two-year college or technical school, six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Diesel mechanic experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • ¬†CDL Class B (Required)
  • Knowledge of mechanical functioning of various components on the equipment
  • Valid class A or B license
  • Must be able to consistently be able to push, pull, lift, stand and kneel
  • Work in an environment that includes temperature changes, periodic loud noises and vibrations
