Madison Metal Processing is currently seeking applicants for a Safety Coordinator in Madison, AL. Madison Metal Processing is a full service, steel processing service center, which specializes in blanking and warehousing in North America. Their product range includes aluminum, flat rolled steel, hot rolled steel, cold rolled steel, exposed and coated steel products.



SAFETY COORDINATOR

PAY: $18.75 PER HOUR

 BASED UPON EXPERIENCE


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Carry out the day to day operations of the safety department to ensure OSHA and EPA compliance.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support the safety department Submission of annual safety improvement goals for management review
  • Administers, maintains and updates safety training program and maintains accurate record keeping
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations, and Root Cause Analysis 
  • Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
  • Oversee compliance with Federal and State Storm Water Permit regulations
  • Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
  • Assist in developing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Responsible for worker’s compensation record keeping--OSHA 300 Log 
  • Prepare applicable safety reports and maintain relevant safety logs as assignedSafety audits and committees as assigned Maintain facility or machinery and evaluates, designs, tests and installs equipment of machinery

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Associates in Environmental Science, Industrial Safety and/or Environmental Health 3 years related experience
  • Experience in OSHA related standards
