Madison Metal Processing is currently seeking applicants for an Operations Group Leader in Madison, AL. Madison Metal Processing is a full service, steel processing service center, which specializes in blanking and warehousing in North America. Their product range includes aluminum, flat rolled steel, hot rolled steel, cold rolled steel, exposed and coated steel products.


PAY: $18.75 PER HOUR



Direction and Coordination of Blanking and Warehouse Operations.


  • Monitors daily safety, quality, and productivity of blanking and warehouse operations
  • Ensures establishment and maintenance of work instructions, process procedures, and work standards Provides leadership for the continuous improvement program (Kaizen)
  • Monitors/directs all problem solving and improvement activities
  • Assists in preparing productivity targets, objectives, and budget
  • Purchases and controls supplies for operations
  • Assist in developing cost saving solutions
  • Monitors RCA and countermeasure implementation for operations
  • Educates/trains subordinates as necessary
  • Prepares various monthly reports
  • Involved in the evaluation of promotions
  • Training employees
  • Direction or distribution of work
  • Maintaining production records of subordinates for use in supervision Evaluating employees’ efficiency and productivity
  • Handling employees’ complaints
  • Disciplining employees
  • Determining and/or planning work
  • Performing the same nature of work as subordinates


  • High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent combination of education and experience equal to 2 years.  
  • Overhead Crane certification, forklift certification. (Training will be provided by TAI and may be obtained within the first three months of employment).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures and work instructions. Ability to complete necessary documentation. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of metric system, basic computer skills – word processing, basic understanding of machine operation and conditions.
  • May be required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to work in tight, confined, cramped areas and at various heights above the floor.
  • May be required to frequently lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds.
  • The employee may be required to drive and/or operate a forklift and overhead crane up to 50% of the work day.
