LOGISTICS GROUP LEADER

SALARY: $55K - $75K

 BASED UPON EXPERIENCE


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initially will lead the establishment and ramp-up of warehouse and logistics operations at a large, high-volume, state of the art automotive manufacturing operation. 
  • Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Manage material flow and ensure parts are delivered to the proper drop locations in the production areas
  • Create area strategy relative to manufacturing functions
  • Strong knowledge of logistics management for efficient service delivery
  • Highly effective coordination and communication with automotive customers
  • Direct and coordinate the storage and distribution of raw materials/supplies within the warehouse and production floor.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory compliance, receiving, and shipping policies and procedures
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the production team at all levels to ensure great communication and understanding of both production and logistics issues
  • Assist with the hiring and development of internal logistics team members
  • Direct staff to ensure the production goals are met while maintaining or enhancing Safety and Quality
  • Plan and organize material handling/warehouse/shipping functions to best utilize resources. assess training needs and drive for continuous skill improvement in the department
  • Lead SKU changes, rollovers, and model changes
  • Give precise directions and guidelines to shipping vendors about the nature of goods and delivery locations, and maintain communication with them to ensure that goods are not damaged in transit
  • Assist with the development of KPIs, Kaizen activities, and 5S implementation/sustainability
  • Support the development of delivery routes and component packaging
  • Promptly identify and analyze process related problems
  • Lead problem solving sessions to determine root cause and implement countermeasures
  • Manage IL Equipment efficiently, fostering a safe work environment
  • Identify process bottlenecks and develop countermeasures
  • Create Area strategy, relative to manufacturing functions, and then assist team in translating those strategies into actions
  • Promote a diverse work environment
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years professional experience in logistics
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a strategic leadership role (10+ team members)
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
  • Project management experience
  • SAP or ERP background
  • MES experience
