Golden Boy Foods is seeking applicants for a Milling Operator in Troy, Alabama. Golden Boy Foods is a leading manufacturer of private brand and branded food products. We supply organic and conventional peanut butter, tree nut butter, other nut butters, snack nuts, trail mix, baking nuts, and dried fruit to leading grocery retailers, top food service distributors and industrial bakeries across North America.   





PAY: $13.50 - $14.50 PER HOUR



Milling operators maintain and control various Bauer Mills, Urschel Mills and product pumps while ensuring the correct formula is being produced on the Nut Butter line. They verify usage of correct peanuts, ingredients and process specifications are being met. They are responsible for ensuring the peanut butter formulation meets specification. This position plays an integral role in ensuring our product meets our customer expectations.


  • Before start up checks all equipment and work areas to insure safety and sanitation conditions are correct and ready for use. Assembles and disassembles equipment for sanitation purposes. 
  • Properly starts up and shuts down the Bauer Mills, Urshel Mills and product pumps. Properly starts up and shuts down peanut draw off hoppers when needed. Properly starts up and shuts down Peanut Blanching and Sorting equipment.
  • Ensures correct ingredients are being used in current product.
  • Checks and documents the temperature of the peanut butter through process controls.
  • Responsible for changing formulation for upcoming product.
  • Maintains peanut blanching and sorting equipment
  • Directs and supports the granulation process
  • Directs and assists in the sanitation of the milling area and all associated equipment 
  • Coordinates production activities with other departments to insure efficient operation of the plant
  • Properly maintains and documents daily production and quality data sheets. 
  • Other duties, as assigned


  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Mechanical aptitude to repair equipment
  • May be required to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4+ hours per shift
  • May be required to walk or stand for up to 12 hours per shift
  • May be required to reach above shoulders and climb/work off ladder for 4+ hours per shift
  • May be required to work in a dusty environment, high heat, or humidity for 4+ hours per shift
  • May be required to perform simple grasping, push, pull, and feel for 4+ hours per shift
  • May be required to lift up-to 50 pounds for 4+ hours per shift
  • May be required to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken or written word
  • May be required to make fine distinctions by sound
  • May be required to distinguish object or equipment visually
