Martinrea is seeking applicants for a Engineering Manager at their facility in TUSCALOOSA, Alabama. Martinrea is a diversified global automotive supplier engaged in the design, development and manufacturing of metal parts, assemblies and modules, complex fluid management systems and aluminum products.


ENGINEERING MANANGER

SALARY: $95K - $105K

BASED ON EXPERIENCE 



JOB DUTIES:

  • Direct the work of the Engineering staff, according to their specialized training
  • Responsible for various process / manufacturing engineering functions including process planning, process capability, work standards, productivity standards, improvement programs, and engineering systems maintenance (i.e. BOM, Routings, MQ1 support, etc.)
  • Responsible for engineering change management for product and manufacturing changes as well as providing project management and program support for product and manufacturing projects and programs
  • Responsible for planning, procurement support and project management of new equipment and special tools
  • Responsible for capacity planning, layout and logistics planning at plant and equipment level
  • Responsible for plant, equipment and tool maintenance (preventative and predictive)
  • Responsible for facilities management including construction, plant furnishings, equipment and utilities
  • Responsible for maintaining a continuous improvement program within the department to identify, define and implement improvement projects, including, but not limited to: safety and quality improvements, process/product improvements, cost reductions, capacity increases, assembly and material handling methods, productivity improvements, and energy/natural resource savings in the plant and manufacturing environment
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production departments to establish, support, maintain and improve the production shop floor systems, processes and documentation in line with MOS requirements
  • Develop department objectives, focus areas and goals in line with company objectives and provide functional assignments within the department
  • Responsible for coaching, evaluating and development of team members within the department in order to meet long and short term department objectives
  • Assist maintenance with trouble shooting
  • Additional responsibilities as required this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change


REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Maintenance or Electronic Technology preferred.
  • Qualified to work on light and heavy current electrical circuits and installations.
  • Welding, Fabrication and Machining skills and experience beneficial.
  • 1-3 years Robotic and PLC systems programming and troubleshooting experience preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in the maintenance of an automated manufacturing operation preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, pneumatic and electrical schematics, logic diagrams and maintenance manuals preferred.
