REN Seafoods is seeking applicants for an HR Manager in Mobile, AL. REN Seafoods is Mobile’s new home for seafood processing.  We are hiring driven, quality-focused team members across the business to service the nation’s top retail and food service companies.



HR MANAGER

SALARY: $45k - $75k

BASED UPON EXPERIENCE



DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing recruitment, selection and the onboarding process.
  • Managing a company’s appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings.
  • Ensuring that a company’s procedures comply with employment regulations.
  • Training the team on various policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring various aspects of an associate’s performance, such as attendance, sick leave, PTO (paid time off), and benefits.
  • Accessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs accordingly.
  • Supporting any disciplinary processes and handling any formal grievances.
  • Analyzing and reviewing pay structures and associate perks and benefits.
  • Creating a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation and sales projections.
  • Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary slips and warning letters.
  • Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired associates on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations.
  • Maintaining physical and digital files for associates and their documents, benefits and attendance records.
  • Creating associate engagement plans, getting necessary budget approval and initiating activities.
  • Collaborating with outside vendors, upper management and associates to maintain CSR standards conscripted by authorities.
  • Supporting associate performance review processes and appraising their pay scale accordingly.
  • Taking appropriate disciplinary action against associates who violate rules and regulations and addressing associate grievances.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field.  
  • Experienced in conducting successful recruitment procedures.
  • Experienced with associate relations.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience in a general HR role, such as an HR Assistant or HR Generalist. 
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalize ideas.
  • Solid ethics and morals and sound judgement.
  • Ability to exercise extreme confidentiality.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide the team and support and motivate staff.
  • A solid understanding of the key principles of employment law in the local market.
  • A solid knowledge of local recruiting and training resources.
  • The ability to remain calm in stressful situations including during disciplinary hearings or staff conflicts.
  • Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software.
  • Knowledge of the relevant computer systems and software programs.
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.
  • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.


HOURS/WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 2 shifts: morning - afternoon; afternoon - late night
  • Overall, office-type position and environment; generally sedentary
