QUALITY TECHNICIAN

SALARY: $45k - $55k PER YEAR


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently perform first article inspection, incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection on parts, gages, check fixtures, and record the results.
  • Troubleshoot dimensional issues on parts, check fixtures, and gages, and lead development of solutions to correct.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation at all times during the inspection and testing process.
  • Use standard precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, thread gages, plug gages, pin gages, and other measuring devices, development of part and gage inspection plans and techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, interpretation of drawings and specifications, general shop math, and geometry. Experience using 3D electronic dimensioning scanners and CMM measuring equipment is a plus.
  • Conduct visual inspection of gages, check fixtures, and weld fixtures using measuring equipment and devices.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems, and application of the standard throughout the process.
  • Conduct process, product, and QMS audits.
  • Perform visual and cosmetic inspection of product.
  • Communicate non-conformances to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other employees.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed by supervision.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of working in a Manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced experience using standard precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, dial indicators, and other measuring devices, development of part and gage inspection plans and techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, interpretation of drawings and specifications, general shop math, and geometry.
  • Knowledge of gages, check fixtures, and tooling.
  • Excellent knowledge of, and experience in, fabrication, materials, techniques, and tools.
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and experience with quality management systems.
  • Operate independently and make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Adaptability to fast pace multi-changing work environment.
  • Advanced skill to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing prints, and specification requirements.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office products.

SCHEDULE/WORK CONDITIONS:

  • 3 different shifts (1st – 6am - 2:30pm, 2nd – 3pm - 11:30pm, 3rd – 9:30pm - 6am).
  • Plants are indoors but can be affected by the outside temperatures (non-temperature controlled).
