Globe Metallurgical Inc. is seeking applicants for a Safety Manager in Selma, Al. Globe Metallurgical Inc. is part of the Iron and Steel Mills and Ferroalloy Manufacturing Industry.



SALARY: $70k - $90k


  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines as established by Management.
  • Measures and evaluates practices, policies and procedures related to risk assessment and compliance.
  • Drafts, prepares and implements policies aiming at fostering a culture of health and safety.
  • Creates, develops and implements health and safety programs in accordance with legal guidelines. 
  •  Identifies and recommends solutions to safety issues and adoption of preventative initiatives.
  • Conducts periodical inspection of the plant’s equipment and machinery.
  • Display a keen awareness and current knowledge of safety and health issues.
  • Supervises and monitors compliance of safety laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct accident investigation and proposes corrective and disciplinary measures.
  • Maintains current analytical procedures and develops new procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the department.
  • Evaluates direct reports on technical abilities, performance and leadership development skills.
  • Generates relevant and detailed reports of all safety activities.
  • Ensures that health, safety policies, standards and procedures are complied with at all times.
  • Promptly corrects any department deficiencies.
  • Additional duties as required.



  • Outlook, Excel, MS Office Suite and SAP.

  • Attention to details.
  • Be task oriented, able to plan, implement, and complete tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Education: B.S. in Safety Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Safety Manager preferably in the Metallurgical, Heavy Industry, industrial manufacturing, or related industry.
  • Solid understanding of safety (OSHA), health policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Strong problem-solving, training, organizational, documentation, computer, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of production processes.
