LAB
MANAGER
SALARY:
$65k - $90k
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows safety procedures and guidelines as established by Management.
- Assists, coordinates and supervises various plant laboratory projects.
- Establishes and improves procedures and processes by proactively addressing issues and risks.
- Ensures that the laboratory establishes and maintains a calibration program for testing equipment that affect quality results.
- Implements quality control processes and drafts management review reports
- Utilizes effective employee management solutions to improve productivity.
- Reviews periodically methods, procedures, reporting and processes to increase efficiency.
- Reviews processing schedules and makes decision to concerning work procedures, assignments taking into account budgetary limitations and time constraints.
- Maintains laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards, troubleshooting procedures, ensuring staff compliance and certifying instrument performance.
- Evaluates direct reports on technical abilities, performance and leadership development skills.
- Maintains quality results by establish and implementing quality assurance measures, performing proficiency surveys, making adjustments in quality procedures and maintaining appropriate records.
- Generates relevant and detailed reports of all laboratory activity.
- Ensures that health, safety policies, standards, and procedures are complied with at all times.
- Promptly corrects any department deficiencies.
- Additional duties required.
- Implements and enforces quality control and tracking programs to meet objectives.
- Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation and procedures by exploring alternatives, preparing proposals, developing and performing parallel and monitoring progress.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

- Excellent communication skills.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- B.S. in Science, chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- Proven working experience as Laboratory Manager preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Heavy Industry, industrial manufacturing or related industry preferred.
- Effective data trending, document control, and technical bench skills.
- Strong problem-solving, training, organizational, documentation, computer and mentoring capabilities.
