MECHANICAL
ASSEMBLER
PAY:
$16 - $20 PER HOUR
BASED
ON EXPERIENCE
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing mechanical tasks associated with both subassemblies and final product in preparation for product testing
- Providing mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical testing of both subassemblies and final product
- Preparing and loading final product for shipment
- Checking work, production orders or prints with materials to verify appropriate drawings/blueprints, ensure correct and sufficient parts, etc.
- Planning sequence of operation, understanding effects of machine set-up, material type, sizes and end product
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues encountered, such as wrong parts, inadequate sizes, etc.
- Assembling parts as specified by work orders, drawings or blueprints
- Operating a variety of equipment to assemble parts according to specifications of work order
- Checking completed work for conformance to specifications
- Adhering to all safety requirements
- Keeping equipment in safe operating condition
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times
- Ability to read a tape measure up to 1/32”
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical degree in a Mechanical program (preferred)
- 1-3 years of Mechanical Assembly experience
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints
- Ability to read pneumatic schematics
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Knowledge and use of hand tools, drill motors, soldering guns, pipe benders and threaders and jig saws
