MOBIS is seeking applicants for a Maintenance Engineer in McCalla, AL. MOBIS US Alabama, LLC is a Tier 1 automotive parts supplier.


SALARY: $55k - $75k



The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing maintenance support for the Mobis U.S. Alabama production department. The incumbent is responsible for providing routine and preventive maintenance for equipment and assets, monitors all maintenance activities within the plant and implements maintenance strategies and activities for the continuous improvement of processes and practices.



  • Oversees maintenance of production equipment  and systems for the plant
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency
  • Manages processes and activities for maintaining all plant equipment and other physical assets to ensure safe, continual and efficient operations
  • Monitors planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and condition monitoring activities of the plant and equipment
  • Selects and implements the maintenance strategies and activities necessary to improve or maintain efficient operations
  • Works with outside contractors when necessary and provides with the necessary support
  • Troubleshoots and solves complex problems
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of processes and practices
  • Maintains appropriate records of maintenance activities
  • Implements training programs as required
  • Develops and maintains maintenance procedures and tools
  • Ensures period predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of all plant of all equipment and assets
  • Attends production meetings as required and disseminate information to relevant team members
  • Works in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and report noncompliance
  • Diagnoses origin of breakdowns, including human error and troubleshoots problems
  • Administers the 3R5S program to ensure a clean and safe work area
  • Operates in full compliance with TS 16949 system
  • Complies with and promote safety in the workplace
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 
  • Four (4) years of proven maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot machines and equipment for needed repairs
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA guidelines
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Professional Engineer license
  • Five (5) or more years as an industrial maintenance engineer
  • Working knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Experience with 2D or 3D Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) programs
  • Working knowledge of maintenance related SAP
  • Working knowledge of industrial air compressors


  • 1st or 2nd shift
  • 30% in office, 70% on production floor 
  • Traversing production floor 
  • Use of protective equipment, devices, and clothing Ascending/descending ladders 
  • Lifting 40-50 lbs. 
  • Overtime and weekend work as needed.
