AIDT is seeking applicants for Pre-Employment Training for an Aircraft Painter with Turbine WORX in Selma, AL. Turbine WORX Inc is the largest aviation MRO maintenance, repair, overhaul, storage and reclamation operations in Central Alabama.


AIRCRAFT PAINTER

PAY: $15 - $33 PER HOUR

BASED ON POSITION/EXPERIENCE


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares the surfaces that need to be painted on automotive such as buses, cars and trucks and polishes painted surfaces.
  • Takes care of the parts of aircraft/vehicles that have not been painted by covering with a paper and masking tape so that they do not get coated with paint.
  • Uses a spray gun to spray filler materials on the surfaces of automotive that have scratches to make sure they acquire a level and smooth surface before applying the paint.
  • Oversees other workers in performing their duties as assigned by them and gives daily instructions and attends to all their needs.
  • Passes information from the client to other staff members and monitors them to ensure perfect job is done.
  • Prep Work, Sanding and Painting Aircrafts
  • Ensures that customer requirements and needs are met.
  • Escorts and assists in parking of all incoming aircraft.
  • Supports aircraft by loading, unloading and providing GSE equipment.
  • Maintains vehicle appearance on dispatch vehicles.
  • Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner.
  • Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one-year experience as a Automotive Painter preferred.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Current valid Driver’s license with clear driving record for past three years required. Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment Operated: Fuel trucks, GSE equipment, transportation vehicles.
  • Work Location: Flight-line, fuel farm, highway driving.
  • Protective Equipment Required: Ear protection, gloves.
  • Potential Hazards: Exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets, desert wildlife and insects, working around moving machinery.
