FACILITY MECHANIC (BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN)

PAY: $23.75 PER HOUR

2ND SHIFT: $1.00 SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

3RD SHIFT: $1.50 SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL


SUMMARY:

The maintenance facilities tech performs a range of maintenance duties supporting the facility infrastructure, as a member of the maintenance department. Their duties include fixing plumbing systems, providing repair guidance, cleaning and repairing and maintaining common and office spaces, grounds keeping, and performing repair assessments.


Under the general direction of the Facilities supervisor, duties may involve systems monitoring; plumbing; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; basic repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs on plant facilities and infrastructure systems; (roofs, flooring, ceilings, windows, concrete, gates, doors, basic electrical and mechanical repairs)
  • Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams
  • Order materials, parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers
  • Fabricating, grinding, welding using power machine shop equipment
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
  • Demonstrated experience with plumbing and electrical systems

The Facilities Tech must have a working knowledge of plant systems, processes and equipment in order to effectively ensure the plant critical infrastructure and systems operate as designed.
