SUMMARY:
The yard goat operator is responsible for the timely moving and spotting dropped containers/trailers in our yard in order to facilitate the needs of the shipping & receiving department.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Moves container from and to the location and dock
- Ensure the correct container are being set on the dock
- Log/maintain information to maintain accuracy yard inventory
- Communicate with shipping & receiving department
- Maintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (ie. Vehicles, people, equipment, etc) at all times
- Install container chassis supports when required
- Assisting other dept as needed with general labor works
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- At least 2 years verifiable experience as a yard goat operation
- Able to work outside in variable weather conditions including high temperature summer month or cold winter months
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Timely and regular attendance
- Have the ability to function effectively in fast paced, team-oriented work environments
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative
- Valid driver license required
SCHEDULE:
- Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 5:00 pm, (ten hours)
